Lockhouse 44 Tour at C&O Canal National Historical Park
Free ranger-led tours open up one of the canal's last surviving lockhouses, furnished exactly as it looked in the 1920s.
Drop-in tours run 10am–3:30pm at Lock 44, half a mile downstream from the Cushwa Basin Visitor Center in Williamsport. Tours are free but get cancelled in high wind, rain, or extreme heat, so check conditions before you drive out.
